Jürg Kreienbühl l Suzanne Lopata l Stéphane Belzère l Kunsthaus Interlaken

Pour la première fois, le Kunsthaus Interlaken réunit dans une exposition commune des œuvres du peintre Jürg Kreienbühl et celles de son épouse Suzanne Lopata et de leur fils Stéphane Belzère.

Proche - dans sa vie comme dans son œuvre - des marginaux et des mondes condamnés à la destruction, Jürg Kreienbühl est aujourd'hui considéré comme une figure importante de l’art suisse de la seconde moitié du 20ème siècle. Privilégiant un réalisme objectif à rebours de la Zeitgeist et des avant-gardes de son époque, il a documenté les bouleversements des Trente Glorieuses qu’il a transformés en peintures d’une grande intensité. Et d’une actualité toujours brûlante.

En confrontant son œuvre à celle de Suzanne Lopata et de Stéphane Belzère, cette exposition propose d’inédites perspectives de comparaison et montre comment tous deux - épouse et fils - se sont détachés de l’influence et de la personnalité de Jürg Kreienbühl. Et comment ils ont progressivement développé leur propre langage pictural.

Dans le prolongement de l’exposition au Kunsthaus Interlaken, Stéphane Belzère montre au Psychiatrie Museum de Berne une série de tableaux ovales représentant sa famille et, en particulier, des portraits de Jürg Kreienbühl pendant les toutes dernières années de sa vie. Intitulée "Szenographie einer Familie", cette exposition est visible jusqu’au 3 novembre 2018.

For the first time, Kunsthaus Interlaken brings together in the same exhibition some artworks by painter Jürg Kreienbühl, his wife Suzanne Lopata and their son Stéphane Belzère.

Close - in his life as in his work - to social outcasts and to worlds condemned to destruction, Jürg Kreienbühl is today considered as an important figure in the Swiss art of the second half of the 20th century. Opting for objective realism counter to the Zeitgeist and avant-garde of his time, he documented the changes of the Trente Glorieuses and turned them into paintings of great strength that are still burning issues.

By displaying his work with that of Suzanne Lopata and Stéphane Belzère, this exhibition offers new perspectives of comparison and shows how both of them - wife and son - have detached themselves from the influence and the personality of Jürg Kreienbühl. And how they gradually developed their own pictorial language.

In addition to the exhibition at the Kunsthaus, Stéphane Belzère shows at Psychiatrie-Museum in Bern a series of oval family paintings and, especially, some portraits of Jürg Kreienbühl during his last years. Entitled "Szenographie einer Familie", this exhibition can be seen until November 3, 2018.
