Jean-Marie Oger participe à P/CAS – Paris Contemporary Art Show #19 avec une exposition personnelle de María Dávila centrée sur ses œuvres de la série "Anónimo".

Pour cette édition consacrée à la photographie et aux œuvres sur papier, la foire se tient au Rivoli Building sur les dates de Paris Photo.

Cette série a été exposée pour la première fois au Museo CajaGranada en 2017. Ces œuvres sont basées sur deux différentes sources photographiques : un album de photographies d’une famille grenadine des années 1940-1960 et les archives photographiques de l’Université de Grenade, montrant des moments bien reconnaissables d'une vie familiale ou des vues de l’institution universitaire. Par la mise en relation de ces documents hors de leur contexte d’origine, María Dávila cherche à souligner leur caractère anonyme comme leur puissance expressive, en menant ainsi une réflexion sur la prétendue objectivité de l’image photographique. Le jeu avec les limites entre réalité et représentation sert à démonter le caractère construit de notre rapport au visible, à partir d’une re-lecture qui renvoie le spectateur à son interprétation et à sa propre image.

Jean-Marie Oger participates in P/CAS – Paris Contemporary Art Show #19 with a solo show of María Dávila focused on her works of the "Anónimo" series.

For this edition dedicated to photography and works on paper, the fair is held at Rivoli Building on the dates of Paris Photo.

The "Anónimo" series was first exhibited at Museo CajaGranada in 2017. These works are based on two different photographic sources : a family album from the 40s-60s and the photographic archives from the University of Granada, featuring some recognizable moments of a family life and some views of the university building. Through the connection between these documents out of their original context, María Dávila seeks to highlight their anonymous nature as well as their expressive power by questioning the so-called objectivity of the photographic picture. The play with the boundaries between reality and representation is used for disconcerting the constructed nature of our relationship to the visible from a re-reading that takes the viewer back to his interpretation and to his own image.
